It isn’t for everyone…or is it?
I’m always interested in a new Naturist podcast out there. They pop up now and again. But let’s face it, some are better than others. Not everyone can be the Naturist Living Show, Naked Age, or the New Nudist Podcast. But the attached is a new one, made by Frank Stone and his “correspondent” Lisa Monroe that caught my attention. I noticed that they managed to garner an interview with Stephane Deschenes, well known naturism advocate, owner of Bare Oaks, and INF President. For a new podcast, that’s a feather in their cap, providing, to me at least, some instant credibility.
I’m not here to provide a critique of the podcast. You and judge for yourself. Like any, it has its strengths and weaknesses. Instead, I wanted to key in on something Stephane said. Now, I’m paraphrasing here. Hopefully I’m fairly accurate. But he mentioned that many espouse the belief that naturism isn’t for everyone. But Stephane believes that it actually is, if they let it. That’s an interesting concept.
I admit, I don’t think naturism is for everyone. I know many non-naturists who would never, could never, will never even contemplate the idea of spending time nude. The reasons vary. But the point is, it’s not for them. But, do I think they would benefit from it? Absolutely! But like most things in life, it takes some effort, commitment, perseverance, and courage on their part to take that step, reject the stereotypes and societal messaging, and give it a full-throated try. The fact they don’t do so, does that mean it isn’t for them? Or perhaps, it just isn’t for them yet?
Im still not entirely sold. I will tell you that skydiving isn’t for me. I’ve never done it and will never volunteer to jump out of a perfectly good airplane. So, Im ok with saying it’s not for me. Does that approach work in all cases? Not sure. But at least I know naturism IS for me. I’ll take discovering that fact as a win!
