Thanks for the comment. I guess that I’ve come to accept certain less desirable elements at a nude beach, just like any other. I don’t take that as capitulation, but more or less the acknowledgment of reality. At a textile beach, there are certainly oglers, focused on their own gratification rather than respecting their fellow beach goers. But at a nude beach, they are put on a pedestal by nude beach critics as representative of all. You could have a strong nude beach community, advocating for improvements, collecting trash, volunteering for erosion control or beach cleanups, helping shape beachgoer behavior, etc.... but it only takes one guy masturbating in the dunes to get the haters focus as why nude beaches are bad.

As for me, despite their challenges, nude beaches are like dreams come true. From the second I step out of my shorts, I feel like I’m

in a utopia of sorts. While I’d gladly go nude at an empty beach, being able to do it as part of a naturist community makes it all the more special.

David, Thank you for this, a great summary. Locally, our voyeurs are known as "Meerkats". They pop up out of the sand dunes, look around, and then hide back down. Constantly scanning for opportunities to either display themselves or to catch the eye of someone. Many of the public complaints at our local beaches relate to the behaviour of the meerkats. Some meerkats are fairly harmless and simply lack the courage to be unashamedly naked in a group. Other meerkats have a more sinister agenda, and that is often covert sexual activity under the guise of naturism. The meerkats, or voyeurs, bring the beach areas that naturists use into disrepute with the general public. It is often their behaviour rather than the behaviour of naturists that authorities use to curb or restrict access.

You find more females preeners on the textile beach. The whole point of a skimpy bikini is to tease.

"Hey! Let's cover our "forbidden zones" with small patches of brightly colored fabric that we look like we might fall out of at any minute. That will really desexualize and deobjectify us."

LOL!

I don't care about meerkats and preeners or even that guy who keeps his erection at half staff the whole time. It is all games inside their head and has nothing to do with me or anyone else on the beach. If we all just ignore those folks - or maybe laugh at and ridicule them when they get obnoxious, they'd go away. But not everyone shares my perspective, particularly women. Most people will want more active measures.

I just did the SF Bay to Breakers. You can run it nude. Around a hundred nudists last time. The nudies and textiles get along really well.

There's maybe a hand full of guys who intentionally parade erections, probably dosed on Viagra or some such and keeping things fluffed up. Plus some really... unusual... genital jewelry. The textiles treat them as jokes or ignore them. It is what nudists should do too.

I agree with every single word... but expecially the last part where you talked about the different kinds of bodies, from beauties to uglies, everybody is in the same place to do the same activity like a tribe! Respect!!

PS: in northern italy the most of single men and some also in couple are voyeurs (JK but sometimes)
